The 9th edition of Drawing Room Lisboa, the international contemporary art fair dedicated to drawing, brings together more than two dozen national and international galleries and over 70 artists.
In the main hall, gallery owners and artists showcase the best of what drawing has to offer today. In the building of the National Society of Fine Arts (SNBA), there is also a room dedicated to book editions, a “Viarco Space,” featuring the well-known Portuguese pencil brand, and an exhibition of the candidates for the FLAD Drawing Prize taking place in the Fernando de Azevedo Gallery, to the left of those entering the building.
In addition to the exhibition area, Drawing Room Lisboa presents Millennium Art Talks, featuring conversations between artists, curators, and museum directors.
The winners of the three Millennium bcp Foundation Prizes were revealed on October 23rd, as part of the partnership with Drawing Room Lisboa, an art fair dedicated to contemporary drawing, whose 9th edition is taking place at the National Society of Fine Arts in Lisbon until October 25th.
The Outstanding Artistic Project Award was presented to Diogo Pimentão, an artist represented by the Presença gallery, based in Porto. The Portuguese artist’s drawing practice, especially with graphite, is the central axis of his work. He conceives it as a form of contact between a material and a support through a repetitive gesture, sometimes blind or procedural, but he also often uses cement, frequently in tension with the paper.
Nádya Ismail, represented by the Helana Rodrigues Gallery, received the Millennium bcp Foundation Acquisition Prize – Emerging Talent, awarded to a young artist, and the artwork presented at the artist’s fair will become part of the Millennium bcp collection.
The Gallery Curatorial Project Award, granted to a participating gallery for its creative booth design at Drawing Room Lisboa 2026, was given to Galeria Lehmann, based in Porto.
