Fundação Millennium bcp and the Rua dos Correeiros Archaeological Nucleus (NARC) are celebrating 30 years of activity.
Over these three decades, the Foundation has supported countless initiatives to promote culture and heritage, particularly museums and heritage restoration projects. It has also developed activities in the areas of architecture, fine arts, music, dance and theatre, promoting publishing and literary projects, as well as initiatives in the field of knowledge and social solidarity, where it pays special attention to children, health, people with disabilities and the fight against poverty.
António Monteiro, Chairman of the Millennium bcp Foundation, said: “In these 30 years, the Foundation has sought to affirm a consistent and responsible action, dedicated to the promotion of national heritage, support for the arts and the construction of a fairer, more supportive and sustainable society. The Rua dos Correeiros Archaeological Nucleus (NARC), a pioneering project developed by Millennium bcp, is a clear example of our commitment to preserving collective memory.”
As part of the 30th anniversary, a communication campaign was created, developed by the creative agency DCE Loving Brands and the Bank’s Communication Division, with the signature “30 ANOS# to share with you”. The campaign will appear in the press, on social media and in the Bank’s branches.
To kick off the 30th anniversary celebrations, the Foundation has already opened the collective exhibition “Caminhos” (Paths), at the Millennium bcp Gallery, in the National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC), with 31 works from the Millennium bcp collection, dealing with the theme of landscape and nature, inspired by the thoughts of the writer and naturalist Henry David Thoreau (1817-1862).
Fundação Millennium bcp was honoured in 2015 with the Medal of Cultural Merit, and in 2018 it was elevated to Honorary Member of Ordem do Infante D. Henrique (Order of Prince Henry the Navigator).
